New Year 26

The planet crosses a stretch

As inconsequential as the rest

The birds, the fish, the mammals and insects

Wander not far from their cozy nest

While us, wherever we are in the world

Celebrate to our level best

As the thin thread spun with love

Undergoes its annual test

Isn't it beautiful, like words in a sentence

How our existence bears meaning only in context?

I hope this year brings motion, from which naturally originates balance

Slow down but don't stop

Or be a leaf on water, that floats without effort

Or gets thrown around in the storm and still isn't torn apart

I hope you feel all that is human, and yet as if you are watching the movie of your own life

Happy new year!
